Would painting the floor tiles white be a viable option to change the look, or should I opt for construction or vinyl instead?

I’m not a fan of the tile floor in this room. Do you think it would be possible to paint the tiles white? Or am I limited to either redoing the floor or using vinyl instead?
I decided to paint my floors using a kit I got from Home Depot. I’m really happy with how it turned out. And it’s holding up well. It’s been more than a year and there’s no signs of wear and tear.
I wouldn’t recommend painting that. It might not hold up well in the long run. Maybe consider laying down some lvp flooring instead.
Each one comes in a variety of colors.
We’re going to freshen it up with a deep clean, sanding, a new coat of paint, and sealing

You should grab a soft rug until it’s done properly.
I think it might take a bit of time to paint, but not too long.
I’m not sure if it’s safe to walk on painted surfaces daily. I’m curious about the potential health risks.
A friend of mine recently painted hers white with epoxy, and they turned out stunning.
Yes, it’s possible to paint tile. The results may not be permanent, but it’s achievable with the appropriate product.
Absolutely, painting is an option. Epoxy is more effective.
Simply use epoxy… I’ve learned that white epoxy will turn yellow over time. A quick solution is to fill the grout with some material to create a seamless surface and then buy some peel and stick tiles.
I would simply place vinyl click flooring over it. Epoxy doesn’t hold up well due to the excessive grout used with mosaic tiles.
Just lay the LVP right on top of it.
No problem!
Absolutely love this! I’ve witnessed some amazing makeovers using All-In-One Paint by Heirloom Traditions Group
Hey , do you mind telling me the color of that lovely blue paint? 😍
Hey , I’m clueless! Previous owners
I’d recommend having them professionally cleaned first before doing any additional work, and then placing a mat or washable rug that complements the walls and shower curtain in front of the sink.
I painted my bathroom tiles white & added a black pattern design. I’m thrilled with how it turned out.

The instructions recommend 1 coat but I ended up applying 2 coats for extra protection.
Wow, great work!
When did you do this amazing job?
I would tidy it up a bit
I went ahead and tiled right on top of it.
My house also had tiles, but they were pink. Yes, pink. We ended up hiding them under vinyl planks.
We decided to tile directly over our pink floor, just like that.
Sure, here is the new text: Yes.
You could paint or tile over, but I wouldn’t suggest it as a long-lasting fix. Vinyl planks are a better option. Removing the old tiles and installing new ones isn’t too difficult or expensive, probably just a few hundred dollars, and it’s a project you could tackle on your own.
Nice point. I’ve been pondering over how to update the floor tile in my powder room. It seems like a manageable project to remove and replace. Thanks
We used a floor tile painting kit to paint the tile flooring at our previous home. It held up well without any problems for the year and a half we lived there, but I can’t say how long it lasted after we moved out. It’s a great temporary fix until you can afford to replace the flooring.
To improve durability, paint with an epoxy and make sure to follow the instructions for preparing the surface. It will have a longer lifespan.
You have the option to install sheet vinyl or vinyl planks/tile over this without adhesive, just use floor trim to cover the edges.
Consider using porcelain tiles for the replacement.
I wouldn’t suggest using epoxy paint on the floor because it can get really slippery when it’s wet.
Thinking about painting tiles? Not the best idea. It might be better to hire someone to remove the old tiles and install new ones. Remember, doing it cheap now might mean having to redo it later. This job isn’t too big. So, it’s best to do it right the first time!
You know, don’t listen to anyone who says you can’t paint tile – it’s totally possible and can last a while if you do it correctly. A bit of sanding, a good bonding primer, and some tile or marine boat paint is all you need.
Another option to consider is using peel and stick tile – it lasts even longer and has a ton of great options to choose from.
We used a paint kit from Amazon to redo our bathroom about a year ago, and everything still looks great! We painted the floor and tub tiles, as well as the entire tub.

I’d recommend going for the Shag Rug option.
In my opinion, painting tiles is not worth it. You may get 5-7 years out of it before it starts to peel, and once it does, it looks terrible. As a service plumber, I’ve seen this done frequently.
Grout-able sticky tile is really impressive. You can install it directly over the existing tile. In my opinion, painting over it hasn’t really worked out well for areas that get a lot of use in the long run.
Paint typically lasts a couple of years. Since my bathroom isn’t very big, replacing it wouldn’t be too difficult as long as the wall tiles aren’t damaged. The amount of grout you have will affect how long the paint job lasts. It may not look as flawless as some online examples, but you can expect it to hold up for about 3 years before it starts to peel. It’s a cost-effective weekend project that can buy you some time before committing to retiling.
You can definitely tile over it once, or you can hire a company to ceramic coat it in a different color as long as it’s securely attached to the floor.
Could you provide more details? Like the name of the company, type of ceramic coat used, etc. It would be more helpful for others reading your post.
Depending on your location, a company like this may be able to help with your bathtub: https://www.miraclemethod.com/bryan-college-station?gad=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD_XH0wWKsZ6vSBNhtsXK-yTbX9SD&gclid=CjwKCAjwyNSoBhA9EiwA5aYlb6VJE5EiK2nLUDM35IMU8DxJfNL8X7ZZp0HrazdmEPYVHKOWOJFu7RoCaOoQAvD_BwE
I personally got my green bathtub sprayed white 5 years ago and it still looks great!
So they’re saying they didn’t use epoxy paint, but rather a ceramic coating? From what I know, ceramic coating is usually clear, see-through, and doesn’t contain any paint pigments.
You can ask questions and offer help without coming off so aggressive, man.
Maybe he accidentally spelled his last name wrong; it should really end in “ER”. I didn’t realize I was writing a thesis about the process. I was just mentioning there are more affordable and less labor-intensive options Ashley could consider for updating her bathroom.
Hey , if you check out the link and click on ceramic tile, you’ll see that they use acrylic resin. It’s different from epoxy resin. Also, they don’t use paint for either.
Hey , I don’t think you only confused me with that. They claim to paint ceramic tiles without using ceramic paint. That doesn’t exist. It’s okay to ask for clarification when someone mixes things up.
The tile, sink, paint, and shower curtain are the only things I’m fond of. I suggest removing the wall tile unless you’re turning it into a shower room. Give the floor a thorough cleaning with a mixture of baking soda, vinegar, and Dawn dish soap. Create a paste, let it sit, then scrub and rinse.
I also have small tiles like these and I can’t stand them because they’re so difficult to keep clean. Do you think I could use larger peel and stick tiles over the small tiles instead?
Hey , sounds good!
Hey , do you have any recommendations for brands?
I just went with whatever was available at Bunnings and it worked great. They are vinyl tiles that come in different sizes and they worked perfectly.
You’re free to paint whatever you want!
I had the SAME tile before and painted it. It lasted about a year. But now I just got some LPV flooring and did it myself over the tile with grout. It looks amazing.
Hey, , look at this!
You should definitely give tile paint a try – it’s super easy and totally worth it!
Give them a sanding, apply a bonding primer, and then paint over them.
Getting them professionally cleaned can really surprise you with the transformation.
