Would composite material be a better choice for repairing without removing the patio doors?

Hey, I’m thinking about fixing this without taking out the patio doors. Do you think composite material would work better than wood?
You could rent a metal break to bend the metal and wrap the outside, or look for a contractor to do it. Typically, I charge between 350 and 800 for rewraps.
If it were up to me, I’d opt to switch out all the wooden trim with PVC, assuming the wood beneath is still in good condition. ‘t forget to use trim screws as well
