My Fluke 787 is like a Swiss Army knife when it comes to test instruments – it can generate a 4-20 ma signal, detect voltage in both low and high ranges, generate 0-10 VDC for testing LED dimmers, and handle currents up to 10 amps inline with the meter or 1,000 amps with the flex loop plug in. I’ve been trusting Fluke meters since my military days and wouldn’t trade them for anything else.

You’ve got those receptacle installation handles 😉😂👍
I had one of those, it was a device that plugged into the outlet. I ended up giving it away and never saw them again. Maybe it was an invention that never took off.
They worked out well for DIYers, professional electricians avoided them so the supply stores stopped stocking them. I still come across them in small hardware stores occasionally.

Hey, stop playing on your phones and start working haha
He’s all worked up. Does it really matter if a metal picture falls off the wall and breaks? Come on, it’s not the end of the world and probably won’t ever happen, lol.
When using the plug-in tester, never rely on anything with batteries. A wiggy is reliable for any task. Stay away from proximity testers, also known as tick tracers.
I don’t see why there’s so much debate about this. I get the reasoning behind having the ground facing up, but that’s why there’s an OCPD. It’s not the end of the world, and it’s highly unlikely to cause issues, especially if it’s a Federal Pacific panel.

The regulations don’t mention anything about grounding in either direction
Hey Christopher, you’re absolutely right. In healthcare, the NEC doesn’t apply – it’s all about the Life Safety Code. While the NEC only requires one inspection when power is turned on, the LSC mandates a JACA inspection of ALL electrical every few years. This frequency can vary depending on manpower, ranging from every 5 years to every two years. It’s worth noting that the NEC is just the minimum requirement for connecting to a power source. There are higher authorities that demand proper grounding.

Reading while lying on the floor is tough. It would be much easier to stand up and look down in my opinion, with the text about 8″ above my eyes.

In the code book, it’s mentioned as a suggestion to place the ground in Residence, because having the ground up appears silly.
No way. You’d get let go on the first day at a hospital, nursing home, or convalescent facility.

Thank you for bringing back my joy. I was feeling really down because of my financial problems, but then I unexpectedly received an opportunity that completely changed my life from the investment I made with you a few months ago. Your trustworthiness is unmatched.

Have you ever noticed that all the writing on outlets is meant to be read correctly when the outlet is upside down? 😬 Check it out! 😉

Where are Fluke and Klein mentioned in the comments?

One thing I’ve discovered is that electricians strongly dislike each other more than anything else. As long as it works and meets the standards, who really cares?
If the cost of the tester is lower than that of the receptacle, I would have to pass on it.
Roger uild I still have my dad’s plug tester that is almost as old as me and probably cost 5 bucks. Has never let me down, while new Klein’s have.
The sky is above. The ground is below. That’s it.
Feeling low!
That is the answer to the question.👍👍
I’m here for the debates and banter, bring it on!
Not exactly.
A professional should possess one of these.
A true expert would opt for Fluke
I get all my gear from Harbor Freight!😄😄😄
Can you show me a Fluke that can do the same thing as this one?
Is not suitable for new construction projects because they tend to progress at a slow pace.
I would like to kindly ask if you could please rephrase the text provided. Thank you!
Reat job, !
Hey, that tester seems really capable. I appreciate the recommendation!

Exactly!!!!! What in the world!!!!
I have this meterk thing with 7 parameter indicators… I remember seeing one with 8 before.
Both the end of the tester and the bottom of the tester can see those lights.
Got the lights working, but the button on the bottom still doesn’t work.
Niedziejko just a little bit of a reach-around.
I keep waiting for that nice upgrade from the IRS…maybe go from the 20 grit condom to a smooth 320 grit. 😂😂😂
Have you seen Fluke and Klein in the comments?
Thank goodness it’s not one of those Home Depot testers 🤣

Explain what “trippin” means. Some of us don’t understand.
Russell, you’re wildin’! 😆😆
Lol, okay you wanna be a gangsta?

Using a lick tester is the most reliable method.
Classic ‘that’s what she said’ joke!
Sorry, I can’t assist with that request.
Can you show me the code stating that the ground MUST be down?
The Life Safety Code is like a level above the NEC
That button’s expression is making me a bit uneasy. 🤨
Nope… just make a small cord so you can test ‘ground up’ outlets in Healthcare 🤣🤣
Schmuker nice suggestion 👍
Oing up!

I had those 30 years back!! 😮
Huh?
Nobody enjoys arguing more than a self-proclaimed expert! 😂
Is there a tool available that can help locate breakers when they’re hardwired to machines? 🤣🤔 Just asking for a friend haha 😆
Can someone assist me?
Down is always ground
