I’m from South Carolina. The power company told me that they are in charge of bringing power to the pole. As a commercial building owner, it’s my job to take care of the power from the pole to the building. For residential properties, the power company is responsible for bringing power to the meter. I hope that clears things up.
Finds it strange. In Indiana, utilities are responsible all the way up to the weather head on your property. Anything beyond the weather head into the home becomes your responsibility.
As far as was concerned, the power company deals with everything from the meter and above, while anything below that is the homeowner’s responsibility.
I’m actually employed by a small power company in a village in Alaska. Our job is to connect to the customer’s lines at the weather head and install the meter below.

If there is an ACSR cable running from the pole to the house, it’s definitely an issue for the power company. And if it’s a farm center pole, then it’s the landowner’s responsibility.

Sure, I can do that. Can you please provide me with the text that you would like me to rephrase?

The responsibility lies with the power company, but chances are they’ll ask you to repair the service mast.

Yes, it’s their responsibility up to the meter base

I was under the impression that they were in charge of the connection at the house. But I’m starting to doubt that since it’s their meter head, not mine. Shouldn’t they be responsible for at least the meter?

Yes, if you request for them to come out to your house, then they will.
Yep, that sounds good to me.
Ot it.

Could it be that the company meters at the pole?
No, I have a meter installed on my building.

From South Carolina said that residential service is the same. Commercial service, on the other hand, is different.
Definitely, they ought to do it sooner rather than later.
Sure thing, I can help with that. Just let me know what you need.
Landowners are dealing with issues after the power company installed the meter.
Yup, but probably won’t address it until it’s too late
They really ought to do that.
Could you provide better pictures so I can help answer your question more accurately?
Yep, they’re accountable, but convincing them to take action is a whole other story
Hey pez, give them a call and mention how bad it’s sparking up there. They’ll probably come out the same or next day, haha!
Mentioned that it’s pretty much a requirement.
Typically, yes, on their end of the meter
That’s what they do in this area
So, you’re talking about their side, right?
They’ll show up pronto with a roll of electrical tape.
This is the one, according to .
Ive it a little nudge with a stick…
Is this prior to or following the weather head?
It really depends on where the service point is located and how it relates to the damage.
Duct tape always comes in handy!
When we reach the weather head, that’s where our responsibility ends. Anything past that is the homeowner’s concern.

Yes, they’re the ones to blame
Haha, they’ll foot the bill 😂
That’s the case where I am, they definitely will.
Yeah, but only if it ends up triggering the issue
Yup
