Will a larger toggle bolt accommodate a 3/8 screw for a bigger hole in the wall?

So the hole in the wall turned out to be larger than the 3/8″ toggle bolt I had on hand. I was thinking of getting a bigger toggle bolt, but then I wondered if the size of the bolt determines the size of the mounting screw. If that’s the case, how should I handle this if the wall can only accommodate a 3/8″ screw?
Could you share a picture of the hole next to the toggle bolt for size comparison? It looks like the hole might be bigger than the butterfly on the toggle bolt.
Try using the smaller toggle bolt. et a board the width of a paint stirrer, drill a hole in it for the bolt. Thread the bolt through your mount, then through the wood. Attach the toggle on the back. Angle the wood into the wall hole and hold the bolt tight against the wall as you screw it in.
I like to use these to hang stuff. They’re called Snap Toggles. They don’t need as big of a hole like regular butterflies.
For your 265-pound toilet paper roll? 🤣 Just kidding, I frequently use those (though not for TP or towel bars…).
If someone has taken it off the wall and made a large hole, I grab a 1x and fix it. That way, even a heavy person could get up from the toilet. 😅💩
When those flimsy plastic screw-in drywall anchors fail, I turn to these. I usually don’t even need to drill a hole because the anchor makes a large enough opening.
I believe you are talking about plastic anchors. The toggle bolt’s butterfly is significantly bigger than the hole it goes through when closed.
If the hole is close to a stud, you can secure a wooden block to the stud through the drywall and then mount your plate onto the block. The block can be simple or have a decorative border.
If you need a paper holder, fix the holes and grab a freestanding one instead of wall-mounting it.
Locate a stud and fasten it using drywall screws.
Hang a beautiful piece of wood and secure it in place with wood screws.
