Which option should be selected for branch circuits on the permit application for an 8 circuit subpanel in a detached garage?

Hey, I’ve got a guy here who needs help filling out a permit application for an 8 circuit subpanel in his detached garage. He’s stuck on this one section, and I think it might be option B for branch circuits, but I’m not 100% sure. Any thoughts on this? Any help would be awesome, thanks!

For 200 Amps or less, you definitely want to go with branch circuits.

If you go with 200A or less and branch circuits, it’s a lot cheaper. This includes service feeders for the sub panel. So, it’s $11.50 x 8 plus $130 for 200A or less.

Wow, in my county, a 200 amp service costs $4.50. Seems like a rip off.

That’s just Pennsylvania for you. It’s the reason we decided to move away.

Isaac Rogers

Wow, can you believe that NE can install a new 200 amp house for under $200?
