Where can I find painted old brackets in a specific size without having to drill new holes?

Has anyone ever painted old brackets before? I can’t seem to find the same size anywhere. I really don’t want to drill new holes. Thanks!
Just use spray paint on them and they should turn out well.
I don’t recall them ever being painted where they were sprayed, but there is paint on them. Over time, the paint on the hinges that move tends to chip or crack. Best of luck!
I can’t get it to stay put no matter what I try. The hinges include a spring and a plastic part to ensure everything stays secure.
You might be able to locate replacement hinges at Lowe’s
Tommy, they actually don’t. I gave it a shot.. I should have mentioned that I prefer them in black.
I recently replaced some hinges just like the ones on a set of cabinets I just painted.
Tommy is looking fantastic! I really want to switch to black hinges.
Deeanna, I’m not entirely certain about choosing black
Take a look at Rub and Buff. It’s not exactly paint, more like a powdery paste
Sharon, oh okay! Thanks
I suggest sanding with fine sandpaper, making sure to clean well before using spray paint
You can find those same hinges at either Home Depot or Lowes.
Josh, I’ve been to both places. They’re not aligned properly and the doors don’t close properly. 😞 I should have mentioned in my post that I prefer black for the upgrade.
Deeanna, do you think these ones wouldn’t be suitable?
Just a quick note, it’s not .
These cabinets from the 1960s have an additional lip, so no need to worry!
Use alcohol to clean them, make sure they’re dry before spray painting them black
Spray a couple of quick coats after giving them a good clean
Painting is okay
Give them a coat of self etching primer first & then spray paint. It does the job! Make sure to roughen up the surface before applying the primer.
Heidi alright thanks! I wasn’t aware of self etching primer 🙂
I haven’t either. Typically I just rough up with sandpaper and then paint.
Have you checked out Ace hardware? I came across hinge sizes there that Lowe’s and Home Depot didn’t carry
Chaz sure thing – not happening 🙂
I painted ours and they came out really nice!
I’ve actually spray painted mine two times already. You can find spray paint for metal at hardware stores. Rustoleum is a good option. It works really well
I decided to paint mine black since I couldn’t find the same style in black. I tested a few and the doors wouldn’t close completely and looked awful because of the space. Painting them did the trick and was much more affordable than purchasing all new ones, if that was even possible
Appreciate it everyone! Just sprayed on the first coat!
It’s interesting to see this after watching many restoration experts put in so much effort to strip off paint from old houses
Abby, I’ve been in this ‘old’ house for 20 years now- it’s definitely time for a change 😂
I actually had ones like that before but I managed to find replacements for them on Amazon
You have the option to paint them with the All-In-One Paint by Heirloom Traditions Group.
If the paint keeps cracking, consider replacing the hinges. Remove the old hinges, fill in the holes with wood filler, and then install the new ones.
Yeah, make sure to scuff thoroughly with sandpaper and use tack cloths to clean before applying Rustoleum paint.
You’ll need to roughen it up a bit and apply a bonding primer
I removed the old ones and gave them a fresh coat of spray paint
