Where can I find a replacement front for my Square D electrical panel with a vintage vertical main breaker series E8 Qo40mw200?

Hey, can you assist me in finding the front cover for my home’s square D electrical panel? I’ve been looking around locally, but no one seems to have it. It’s for the old vertical main breaker 200 amp service, specifically the series E8 Qo40mw200. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah, I know they’ve been gone for quite a while now, so it’s really just a matter of luck. With my luck, I probably won’t find it, haha.
Some big companies actually have a “junk yard” right on their premises!
I checked out our local electrical supply places and even some salvage construction spots, but no luck. Do you know of any large places that ship?

Hey, I recently handed one over to a contractor. You know, I think I have one that I removed from an older home. It’s actually from a repeat customer my dad worked for 50 years ago. When I saw his handwriting, I immediately recognized it. They’re pretty hard to come by, right?

Appreciate it, I came across a smaller one but still looking for the 200amp. It’s a bit of a stretch, but I’m sure someone out there has the complete box stashed away in their basement, just a matter of finding them haha

I totally agree with you! I’ve been considering getting an old metal military footlocker and cutting out the back to hang it on the wall above the box.

I can’t believe how popular Quantum Optics is! It’s surprising that no one has reached out to Schneider to ask about getting a panel cover.
I appreciate your input and agree with the facts you’ve stated. However, I personally believe that a non-listed cover is better than an open box.
It’s worth considering that if a panel is left uncovered, an insurance company could use that as a reason to deny a claim. Insurance companies are known to look for any excuse not to pay out. At this point, you’re unsure if coverage is available for that panel or not. So, the question of whether to make one or leave it is a bit silly until you have more information.

Outdated. Try checking out second-hand suppliers. Or consider having a metal fabrication shop create one for you.
