What’s the best option for replacing the ceiling in my manufactured home – removing it or putting drywall on top?

I recently purchased a manufactured home, but I’m not a fan of the ceiling. Do you think it would be better to remove the current ceiling or cover it up with drywall? I appreciate any advice you can offer.

Grab a spray bottle with warm water, dampen the area, scrape off the texture, and reapply.

If it’s popcorn ceiling, the participant should remain anonymous.

I believe this ceiling is not textured, looks like the panels have indentations. Just my opinion.

I agree with . You should definitely check it out.

Could you try removing a panel to check what’s above?

Back in 1978, we had a mobile home with ceilings like these. We decided to prime and paint them using white ceiling paint. The result was a significant improvement.

You could consider purchasing different panels that are more aesthetically pleasing. I’m not sure if the framework can handle drywall ceilings.

2×2 rafters might not be strong enough for drywall
