What window coverings do you recommend for West-facing windows with arches in the dining room and square ones in the home office to maintain privacy without blocking the view?

The way they integrated the arch into the molding is impressive. I suggest leaving the top of the arch exposed and having drapes that open to the sides of the other windows. When fully closed, they can meet in the middle of the arch.
– I can’t stand how they arched up into the molding, but I don’t think I can change that. I was considering leaving the top arched window open, as well as my office window. Maybe I’ll hang the curtains at the break between the smaller top windows and the larger ones. Thanks for your advice!
That view is beautiful! I’m picturing something very sheer, like linen shades that almost vanish when pulled up. I wouldn’t cover those windows with drapes.
Is there a type of blinds that can be hidden and controlled remotely? That way, they can remain open during the day and be closed for privacy at night. They are beautiful, so it would be a shame to cover them completely.
Maybe a mix of drapes and shades?
Your suggestions are awesome! I’m stuck trying to decide on my door and windows. Can you help me out?
We opted for plantation shutters throughout. They maintain the views and allow natural light in, but we can close them at night for total privacy or during the day to block out light.
– could you please share a photo of them? I think the plantation shutters are really lovely.
My son Kim always makes sure to keep his shirt buttoned up.
The curtains still allow a lot of sunshine to come through for my plants.
They’re on all the windows except for the frosted ones above the kitchen sink and bathrooms.
We had the doors made with 2 separate sections so we can control the amount of light coming in. We chose PVC for durability in the humid South Florida climate.
Those shutters look amazing, but I find myself constantly dusting mine.
I use dryer sheets to wipe mine down and it really makes a difference.
Thank you, ! I’ll make sure to do that.
Sure thing, ail Malave! No problem at all. I used to dust them every week, but now I do it once a month. I just clean them thoroughly, let them dry completely, and then give them a good wipe down with dryer sheets.

Wow, they are absolutely stunning!
If you don’t require privacy, then there’s no need for anything.
These windows face southwest for us and they work perfectly.
How about using draperies hung under the transom windows? It will give the impression of being the same height above the other windows. You can extend the rod all the way across. Consider adding bamboo blinds for a different look and use the draperies for softness, color, and pattern. Just make sure they are stylish enough to pull off, even if you don’t actually pull them.
