What was decided about the stair skirting that needed to be switched out, and how is the new one being created with an oscillating tool and template?

Hey, so remember how we were talking about replacing the stair skirting? Well, my husband went ahead and used an oscillating tool to cut it off. We’re planning on making the new skirting taller, and he’s going to create a template using the old one. The next piece will be cut off all at once. We had to get this one off quickly so we can start the flooring on the lower level.
That blade isn’t right for the job
Which one do you think is best? We don’t want it to be too sharp or strong, so we can have more control.
It’s the smaller blade, about 1 1/2 inches wide and square on the cutting end. If I was at work, I would send a picture.
