What unexpected discoveries did you encounter while working on a kitchen remodel and identifying electrical issues?

Can you believe what I discovered in the wild? During a kitchen remodel, I realized that the breakers weren’t turned off for the microwave and fridge outlet. So, I decided to turn off the 50amp range circuit, and sure enough, they shut off! It was pretty amusing. I then went to find the splice and discovered that it wasn’t in a junction box. Can you imagine that? It’s important to always have it properly installed in a junction box!
Hey there! I must say, that tape job looks pretty nice! 😁
I’ve encountered that situation before. Seems like a common occurrence with landlords.
Just a junction box? no new circuits or just leave it as is? you are worse than the original jack leg who claims to be an electrician.
I was just kidding around, aylord. 🌈 We’re constantly fixing the electrical work that you electricians mess up.
Yikes pretty brutal if you ask me. How do you know op didn’t upgrade? Sounds like He was talking about the previous electrician or owner/ handyman could have at least placed it in a junction box
Houtch why bother putting it in a junction box if it’s only NMD wire anyway?
Now I believe what they say about you is true. You definitely keep your promises, you have positively impacted many lives including mine thanks for your good deeds and kindness

I come across that kind of thing way too often. During remodels, it’s always a surprise to see what’s underneath.
When it comes to the microwave and fridge, they only consume the necessary power, correct? 🤣
Where are you located?
