What type of wood were the cabinets made of in the 1980s, with a slightly more orange tone in person?

Do you happen to know what kind of wood was used in those cabinets from the 1980s? They seem a bit more orange in person.

I could be mistaken, but I think it’s pine; definitely not oak.

Seems to be a maple tree

Seems to be a pine frame with an ash panel.

I’m about 90% certain that it’s pine with birch panels. This is why the solid wood looks uneven and the panel appears to be stained. The grain pattern on the panel gives off a strong 80s vibe, like birch cabinets.

By the way, those would look really nice if painted.

That piece of wood is actually Hard Maple. It’s also known as rock maple.

Birch

Oswald Thielmann

It’s high-quality plywood that resembles birch.

Panel made of birch and pine wood.

Ranbir Gupta

It’s a birch.

The issue likely lies with the stain itself, not the type of wood.
