What type of fasteners should I use to secure a plate on top of a sea container for a leantoo roof?

I’m working on adding a lean-to roof that will overlap a sea container. Any suggestions on the best type of fasteners to secure the plate on top of it?
I think I would weld it, then make sure to clean and paint the weld thoroughly. That way, we can prevent any leaks from occurring.
Try using Tek screws with an impact driver.
