What type and color of roof should I consider for my old house after meeting with the insurance adjuster and tackling hail damage? Happy Easter!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to give a quick update on what’s been going on with the house. I’m meeting with the insurance adjuster tomorrow morning to talk about the roof, which was damaged in a couple of hail storms. So far, we’ve made some progress fixing up “this old house.”

I’m still trying to decide on the type and color of the new roof. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks and Happy Easter! 🐣

I hope everything goes well for you! Just keep in mind that insurance adjusters are employed by the insurance company and their goal is to save the company money. It’s common for them to deny claims at first. Make sure you hire a roofer who will physically inspect the roof for damage. (Roof vents with dings or dents are strong evidence of hail damage.) Remember, the State Office of Insurance or Commissioner of Insurance can be helpful in ensuring the insurance company follows through with their obligations.

Made a great observation about climbing on the roof!
I heard that one company used a drone for their assessment!
I ended up going with a different company.
The insurance adjuster just completed their inspection, and the storm map shows that the damage did occur.
Interestingly, this roof doesn’t have ridge vents, but our propane tank has some noticeable dings!
Everything seems to be going well so far.
