What other options are there to cover the white strip left behind after removing the metal siding, like maybe pallet boards, for redoing cabinets?

Hey guys! I removed the metal siding on this white strip to redo the cabinets, but now I’m not sure what to put up there. I was thinking about using pallet boards, but they’re not wide enough. Any other ideas?

Secure a flat board over it.

Hey, if there are only nails or screws securing the metal, I’d suggest taking it down and refinishing with drywall. Alternatively, you could frame a small box with 1×1 or 2×4 and drywall it.
