What is the most effective method for securing 12 GO board to a concrete wall with a 1 3/8 inch gap in a DIY tile shower stall in a basement setting?

Hey there! I’m tackling my first DIY tile shower stall and I’m wondering what’s the best way to attach 1/2″ go board to a concrete wall in my basement? I’ve got about a 1 3/8″ gap between the wall and the pan.
Add furring strips that are treated 3/4 inch thick to block the first layer
Why isn’t there any mention of insulated walls in this discussion?
Hey , I forgot to mention that there’s already an installation in place that I simply cut pieces from to accommodate my furring strips 😊
To make the oBoard even with the pan lip, I would secure furring strips to the wall that are thick enough. Place them 16″ apart, similar to wall studs. For your situation, you can rip 2×4’s to a thickness of 7/8″.
