What is the most common white trim color for half-finished renovations, considering brand, color, and finish, for someone with no paint knowledge?

I just moved into a house that’s halfway renovated. The previous owner started the renovations but sadly passed away before finishing. I don’t have any paint cans with colors, so does anyone know the most popular white trim color? I’m clueless about paint brands, colors, and finishes. Any recommendations, even if it doesn’t match perfectly, would be greatly appreciated. I’m sure anything will be an improvement from what it looks like now. Thanks in advance!
You can head straight to Lowe’s or Home Depot, where you’ll find paint labeled as “trim paint” on the front.
I own one of those color muse gadgets and I always use it when I need to find matching colors. Just download the app, connect the device, and scan the paint you want to match. It usually provides you with 3 of the closest matches.
Hey , this method also works great!
For spaces with a lot of activity, I find Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace Semi-Gloss works best.
I appreciate it! This is the guidance I needed.

Just grab a sample of it and find a matching color
Oh, , that’s true too.
Did you know you have the option to choose your favorite colors and redesign everything the way you want it? It could be a fun project to tackle one room at a time and really make it your own. Just a suggestion!
I believe it’s called classic trim paint from Sherwin-Williams, and it complements everything we work on.
I really adore Sherman Williams’ high reflective white! I recently used it on my trim, ceiling, and stair rails. It’s difficult to find a match.
Put your own twist on it!
Wow, , your room is giving me deja vu!
The initial photo was taken during the fireplace renovation. The following picture shows the final result of the fireplace!
Our Living room used to be yellow, but we added color throughout our home. The fireplace now has Black granite.
This is the project we worked on in our bedroom.
Ben Moore’s Chantilly Lace and Sherwin Williams’ White Dove are really popular choices for white paint colors.
Simply find a matching color
Locate a paint chip and bring it to Sherwin Williams for a color match. In my opinion, Lowes and Home Depot are not very accurate with this. I prefer the Emerald Urethane brand for trim painting
Avoid using flat finish as it’s not easy to clean
It’s as if Home Depot and Lowe’s scanners need to be reset.
Make sure the sample is large and clean enough. Simply grabbing a small chip won’t give accurate results. I’m not sure what size qualifies as “big enough” nowadays, but I remember they required a square of at least 2″x2″ last time I did it.
For trim and cabinet paint, go with semi-gloss.
You should consider getting one of these. It can help identify the color and recommend the best matching brands. Very user-friendly. https://www.amazon.com/COLOR-MUSE-Colorimeter-Matching-Instantly/dp/B01KKEMIF0?th=1
Hey , thanks a lot!! This is the guidance I needed 👏
The railing appears to be primer and the beams are two different shades of white. Instead of trying to match them, just choose which white you prefer and gradually paint all the trim (if needed) in that shade. We prefer Swiss Coffee
Simply repaint in the color and finish that you prefer. It seems to be mostly primer.
Have you considered painting everything black for a bold change?
I’m leaning towards an all-white look. Most of the trim in the room is already primed and painted white, I just want it to match effortlessly. Can someone just recommend which paint cans to buy?
I get where you’re coming from!
I always recommend sticking with Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams paint brands.
Make a trip to home depot and grab a variety of white paint samples to compare
Head over to the paint store of your choosing and pick up some color samples to bring back home….
