What is the best product to use to fill gaps in Masonite hardboard siding to prolong its lifespan before replacing it?

So, I’ve got this Masonite/hardboard siding on my house that I eventually want to replace, but I’m trying to put it off for a while. There are a few panels that got warped from moisture and the previous owner patched them up with some clear caulk, which seems to be doing the trick. However, I’m starting to notice some little gaps in other areas. What would be the best thing to use to fill those gaps and keep the siding in good shape for a bit longer?

Any chance of a picture?
You might just need some bright white lighting. Alternatively, clear silicone could work if you prefer not to use white caulk.
The upper one is filled while the lower one is still empty.

Osi mentioned that there are countless colors to choose from in the paint. The paint also remains durable over time and can be painted over once it fully dries.
