What is the best option for securing shingles in the valley: roof cement, sealant, or adhesive, and what are the differences between them?

I think I need to make sure these shingles are secure in the valley. There are so many products to choose from, I’m not sure what to use. I’m a bit confused about whether I should go with roof cement, sealant, or adhesive…and what sets them apart. Can anyone offer some guidance?

Make sure to grab a couple tubes of blackjack

In an open valley, the roofer should have placed shingles underneath as an edge. Use a 3-tab shingle with the tabs cut off so that the tar line is facing the valley for better adhesion. And most importantly, ensure that the protrusions are also cut off.

Just use roofing cement, no need for nails

You can simply fix it by grabbing some blackjack roofing cement.

Underneath the roof cement there, you can also use a tube of black jack. Just run a line along the shingle and the valley if you’re not feeling confident.

Looks like your roofer really missed the mark on that valley…

Just a heads up, , it’s known to have issues…

Avoid causing water buildup by not completely sealing the entire bottom
