What color suggestions and modern furnishings do you recommend to keep a room light and airy in a location with long dark winters?

Hey there! Just moved into a new place that needs some sprucing up. Looking for advice on paint colors and modern furniture for this room. We’re aiming for a light and airy vibe, especially since we’re in a spot with long, dark winters. Thanks in advance!
Avoid obstructing your lovely windows with oversized furniture and mount the TV on the wall. Install curtains and reposition the sectional to be more centered in the room, facing the door.
Temporary furniture arrangement until we finalize our plans. ood point about not covering the windows. Perhaps adding some chairs in that corner?
Swap out the couch for a pool table and two pinball machines, add a bar, and consider including two smoking chairs with an end table in between.
My husband and boys are on board with the pool table and pinball machines! Sage is a nice color choice and definitely include 2 chairs. Appreciate the suggestions! 😊
I always enjoy having two comfy chairs with a table in the middle by the windows. However, I also like a sofa table behind the couch if the room is spacious enough. Especially if there isn’t a wide window sill. In that case, you can place a floor lamp behind the sofa. As for colors: if there are hints of orange in the floor, I suggest going with blues. If there are yellow tones, then greens would work well. For grey floors, consider using yellows. Choose a color and go with it. I would recommend a large rug with your favorite colors and bring out the color on the sofa with a few pillows and some elegant curtains.

Hey ! Thanks a lot! I don’t really have a lot of style myself 😜. I prefer to keep things simple, with a minimal and bright look. I like colors like greens, blues, and yellows – I avoid dark colors. When it comes to furniture, we won’t be keeping much of what’s currently in the picture.
