What are the best products to repair the wood in my bay window to prevent moisture damage from my plants on the sill?

This here is the bay window behind our kitchen sink. We inherited it when we bought the house, so don’t blame me. Any suggestions on how to fix up the wood until we can get a new window? I’ve got plants on the sill, so I’m mostly worried about moisture.
I decided to use vinyl tiles on my windowsills to hold my plants. Accidents happen, and water spills can harm the wood. Nowadays, there are some beautiful vinyl tiles available, even ones designed for walls that can be used under plants

Oh I’ve seen people try that on tables before and it looks so charming
Try using Murphy’s wood oil followed by Murphy’s wood soap a few days later. It will give it a refreshed look and help blend in the scratches
The best way to repair that would be to sand it down past the scratches and then restain it
