We decided to clean our ceiling fan after moving into our new house. Now we’re struggling to put it back up. We noticed two old springs on the fan part. Any suggestions on how to reassemble it?
So, does it simply snap into place? Those springs are from an older fan that you pull down to replace it.
Take a look around, you should find some small clips that attach to the end of the spring and then clip into the cover.
My guess is that the springs attach to the hook tabs on the underside of the vent cover.
First-timers always get it. ‘t forget to check out YouTube for help!
Begin by attaching the springs to the plastic plate
I’ve never come across one like this before. Maybe it snaps in as someone mentioned.
I don’t think it’s meant to come all the way off, haha.
Make a tiny hole for the spring, then screw in a small eyehook to attach the spring.
Check the model number to find out if there’s an online installation manual.
It seems like it was previously disassembled and not put back together correctly, or it’s possible that the cover you have is a replacement and the tension springs it originally came with were removed by someone who used the springs from the old cover instead.
It was likely rigged up before you removed it and you may need to rig it up again to reassemble it.
That’s why you want to take pictures while you’re taking it apart.
I suggest replacing it.
