We’re updating our trim boards and they come primed in white. Should we paint them before installing or wait until after they’re up?
Definitely before!!
Yup, definitely before, and do some touch up if necessary.
Oh yeah, definitely do it before ….. you’ll have to do some touch up after filling the nail holes…..but doing it “before” really simplifies things 😊
I recommend painting them once they’re installed and caulked. If you were asking about primer, I would suggest priming both sides beforehand – but you mentioned they’re already primed.
Before you finish up, do a bit of touch up.
Make sure to caulk and fill in any nail holes after using a Brad nailer. The holes should be small.
Make sure to be careful when painting near edges to avoid getting paint on the wall or floor. Keep a wet rag handy to quickly clean up any mistakes before they dry! ‘t forget to touch up nail holes with paint and fill in any gaps with silicone or caulking as needed.
Before painting, skip taping the wall and floor if you’re not skilled at cutting corners. Keep a wet rag handy to quickly clean up any small mistakes! Touch up nail holes and fill gaps with silicone or caulk as needed.
Before painting, I discovered that it was more convenient to paint the trims when they were removed from the walls. I was worried that painting them while still attached would result in paint drips ruining the wall color, haha
