Anyone have any thoughts on these classic GE panels? Should I stick with it or upgrade?

I recently swapped out a 200 amp E panel that was really showing its age! The breakers weren’t fitting snugly on the bus, so it was definitely time for an upgrade. The new panels may be smaller, but they’re much lighter than those old ones.

Si está funcionando bien por su cuenta, simplemente dale un repaso de limpieza y asegúrate de que esté ajustado. ¡Y eso es todo!

Panels over 30 years old may have plastic fatigue in the breakers, and if the brand is no longer in production, the replacement breakers can be costly. If you notice any signs of arcing or discoloration on the bus under the breakers, it’s a good idea to consider replacing the panel before a major issue occurs.
