Should I replace the entire 2×6 subfloor due to rotting and lack of support in sink cabinet repair?

Hey there! So, I was working on replacing my sink cabinet, and I noticed that the subfloor underneath is all deteriorated and rotting. It seems like the damage is only about six inches deep. I was thinking of just patching it up, but I’m worried that it might not give enough support to the floor since the end won’t be supported by the foundation beams.

Do you think I should just go ahead and replace the whole 2×6 subfloor? Thanks for your help!

Attach a blue cleat to the right side of the joist, then use screws to secure a strip of plywood across the joist bay in the red area. This will help support the end of the board you cut and the new piece you are adding.

Sounds good, Robert! Adding a 2x block to the rim joist is a perfect idea. Make sure to use PT lumber when you sister it to the rotten rim joist.
