Should I just fill the gap in my foundation or opt for a more robust fix, and which professional should I consult – a foundation repair person or a brick expert? Also, any DIY tips for dealing with bees nesting in the brick wall?
I’m seeking feedback on a vertical break in my foundation that’s about eight inches tall. It’s at the corner of my split-level house, inside the garage with living space above it.
I’m wondering if I can simply fill the gap for a quick fix or if I should consider a more substantial repair. Would it be best to hire a foundation repair specialist or a mason for this job?
Fortunately, I haven’t noticed any other issues in the house related to this break. No stuck windows or doors, no cracks in the walls, and the garage door is working fine.
By the way, bees have built a nest in that brick wall where the break is located. They seem to be honey bees, not wasps or hornets. Any ideas on how to remove them without harming them?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Remove the queen bee and everything else will fall in line. Just relax about the concrete curb, observe for any additional shifting or cracking. If there isn’t any, no need to worry.
