Should I add more watery self-leveler to smooth out the dips in the uneven surface I’ve already applied?

I tried using some self-leveling compound, but it didn’t quite level out as much as I expected. I can still feel some uneven spots in the compound. Do you think adding a bit more water to make it thinner would help it level out more smoothly?
Yes
Did you try using a spiked roller?
To get it perfectly level and smooth, you should use a rolling agitator and leveling float. I usually just use a trowel to smooth it out, jiggle it to remove air bubbles, and feather the edges. Adding more water will make it thinner, but it will take longer to dry.
Roller with spikes.
Make sure to use a story stick and a laser level to check for any variations when pouring and floating the concrete. It may not be perfectly flat, but it should be good enough for the flooring you’re planning to install.
You should spread it on in troubled spots that are lower after identifying them with a level and straight edge.
Fill in the areas that aren’t smooth with basic patch. I don’t notice any raised sections so I’m guessing it wasn’t properly leveled or you didn’t use a spiked roller. What material did you use for the repair?
Just roll with it as long as they aren’t potholes you’re good
I had a similar experience in our bathroom. There were high and low spots once everything dried, but my tile guy was able to level it out by adjusting the thinset and using a leveling system. With a skilled tile setter, even a 1/4’’ gap can be made perfectly level with the tile in place.
I also tried using a leveling rake and a spiked roller, but it still didn’t level properly. I made sure to add the same amount of water to each batch, but some ended up thicker while others were more liquid, so it didn’t spread evenly. It’s frustrating when you follow all the steps correctly and it still doesn’t turn out as expected. There are just so many factors to consider. I used Sika brand products as a point of reference.
