Should caulk be applied around this system post-installation?

Should I put some caulk around this thing once I’ve got it installed?
The instructions recommend adding sealant. So, yes, you should seal the edges.
Yes, my apologies. I meant after the vinyl siding is reinstalled. I have sealant behind the initial piece.
Ah, got it. Yes, it’s better to have the siding sealed as well.
Do you need to? Probably. But why not just go ahead and do it. Anything that prevents water from coming in is a good idea. Make sure the layers of your water protection system cause any water that penetrates your defenses to shed away, like shingles on a roof.
