Ryan let me tell you, these are truly top-notch. When I’m working solo, this wire wheel is definitely worth the investment and the best choice out there.
Traffic cones are amazing! Wire smoothly comes off the reel and hardly ever breaks. A colleague brought this idea from his previous job and I made fun of it. That sounds ridiculous, you’re ridiculous and I’m not using that. Until I gave it a try. It works just as well with mc.
Hey, I’m really interested in how you manage to do it. Personally, I usually just walk off coils of 250 or spin it around my head until it straightens out in a pinch.
Grab everything and walk away. After a year, you’ll be an expert without needing any additional tools to transport or purchase. With 250s, you can complete multiple projects at once by having various types of wire on hand. This eliminates wasted time going back and forth. Additionally, it prevents interference with other trades by completing a 1000.
I’m cracking up at myself with my two hands, it looks like I’m mimicking “the wheels on the bus go round and round” 😂😂😂

Either one works, it doesn’t matter. Wiring a house will never be as good as going to a strip club with a bag full of cash and some candy.

I use a milk crate with EMT handles to hold the spool inside. Allows me to easily move from room to room pulling wire. And it conveniently holds my tape measure too! You should give it a shot!

How about splurging a little and getting a full spool instead of skimping. And don’t forget to invest in a good rack – who has time to pull wire one by one, right? Time to step up your game, haha.
Josh uisinger, you’re paying extra for pre-measured bagged NMD90. And they never even mentioned selling it by the truckload! 😂
Just and only the new text:

I use the romex itself, chop off the first 2 feet and use 2 staples. Come on, who taught you how to pull wire?
12/3 also happens to be purple! Some brands haven’t caught on yet, but I think it’s a cool concept.

I hate to say it, but residential work is probably the most difficult in the industry. The fact that you’re usually working for a demanding contractor is a big part of the problem.

Working on new construction is often considered the toughest in the industry. This is mainly because when you’re building a new home, it’s usually for a demanding contractor who wants everything done quickly without paying upfront. Additionally, drilling into ceiling joists and hammering x staples can be really challenging.

Utilize 1000′ reels with a piece of pipe threaded through it, then support it between a couple of studs with some nails. Piece of cake.

I have 4 similar ones on the right that I built and have been using for 4 years. I used throwaway pieces, so I didn’t spend any money on them other than the rough nail to hang them. Why spend money on something new when these work just fine?

We do hard piping and pull THHN wire like true professionals
Just need four nails and a piece of EMT for that.
I used to do the same thing, Nathyn riffis
Hey,
Hey, who’s in charge of the 250’s at the moment?
250 feet for Reno work, thousands for rough work. EMT and nails.
I’ve crafted many devices similar to the one on the right throughout the years!

These are decent, but man, they tend to go sideways a lot… always have to readjust them! lol
Hands down, the best caddy. I’ve had mine for years and it’s a must-have for every romex and mc cable job.

Same here! The wirewheel is my favorite.
I couldn’t handle them breaking in the cold, so I had to stop using them.

Hey can I see a close up of that traffic cone, it looks crazy haha

I’ve had the left one for 24 years, still going strong.
Just two, one-inch holes in the studs and a piece of rebar – simple and effective.
Does anyone have any DIY ideas for recycling MC reels?
Utilizes the blue one shown in the image above
I’ve had both options but always preferred the one on the right. Our homemade versions may have been slightly different, but the same idea.
Our reels are delivered already on reels.
Using the spool that holds the wire and wire racks
Just the ground.
Definitely made at home
What’s the deal with using 250ft rolls in new building projects?
Goes over to the next house with 10 wires.
A new employee.
Back when I was a young apprentice, they made me drill 10,000 holes in concrete in 11-degree weather.
Knows that the real action is in the tools!
Ohhh how sweet!
The actual reel.
The plastic packaging.
I’ve spent over two decades in the industry and never once relied on a tool. I always either unrolled my wire manually or used the 1000 foot spools.
If you’re using a 1000 foot spool or any other gadget to unroll just 250 feet, you might need some practice!
Hey, I’m really interested in how you manage to do it. Personally, I usually just walk off coils of 250 or spin it around my head until it straightens out in a pinch.
Haha
Can you please clarify that?

My hands are so lovely
Ive traffic cones a try, you won’t regret it.
Hey, , do you attach it to the ceiling? It seems like that would be effective
Can you hang it up anywhere?
Hey,
A trainee
Wait, ? The roll is there?
Purchase 1000 reels and typically use rackatiers.
😂😅🤣
How about we spend 10 minutes setting up a wire holder to easily pull 70 ft of wire in just 10 minutes, then move it to another location….
Sounds like you must be a commercial guy, lol
You’re telling me it takes you 10 minutes to hang a spinner on a stud? Yikes!
It only takes 2 seconds with the stud hugger that screws onto mine.

Buying nmb in bulk doesn’t come cheap, especially when it’s pallets of 250-foot rolls.

Hey Kevin, just a reminder that your meeting is on 3/14.
I’ve been away from home for about 12-13 years now and I always imagined it being white. That sounds like a good plan though.
