Hey, do you know if there’s a way to get rid of PVC primer from linoleum flooring? Just want to make sure before I go ahead and replace it.
You should consider using clear primer. It may seem strange, but it worked to remove the purple primer from my hardwood floor.

Oh no, it can damage linoleum. A while back, a new worker accidentally spilled an entire can and it destroyed the floor.
Oh, interesting.
Using clear PVC cement might get rid of the primer. Not sure how it will affect the flooring, but it’s worth a try if you’re planning to replace it anyway.
It sounds like it might work because most vinyl from that time had a pvc wear layer.
I accidentally spilled some purple on my concrete, so I tried using clear cement to clean it up. Unfortunately, it also took off the sealer. I’ll just have to reapply the sealer to fix it. I’m not sure how the flooring will react to it, though. It was the only solution I found online.
Another option to consider is trying brake clean for those stubborn stains.
You could also use denatured alcohol or goof off for similar results.
I found graffiti removal spray at the hardware store near me and it works wonders on removing tough stains!
I’ve never used muriatic acid on tile before
A coat of clear primer on top of the purple
Have you tried wd 40?
Hey Marty, I agree with you! It really does wonders on linoleum. I’m not too sure about the purple primer, but I’m definitely curious about it.
Maybe give pink stuff a shot
Nah
Total waste of time.
Change the flooring.
I don’t think so. Primer is used to soften and break down PVC or linoleum chemically. The purple color is there so you can easily see the damage. Let me know if you end up fixing it.
‘t forget the clear primer, haha.
You might wanna use PVC cleaner or brake cleaner for that.
