Is there a better solution to secure my screen door that won’t leave gaps around it when the screws are too short?

Hey, so I had the screen door installed but it’s already falling off. There are gaps around the door and I think we need longer screws to secure it properly. You can clearly see the gap when you look straight at it. Any suggestions on what we should do next?

The storm door has been placed next to the brick molding surrounding the main entrance. Reattach the brick molding using screws to firmly secure it to the door frame. Consider inserting filler pieces of wood between the rough opening and the door frame to create more areas for additional screws to secure the brick mold.

Thanks for sharing that information

‘t forget to install some sort of flashing or awning above that large gap at the top.

The trim on the top and opposite side of the door jamb is not there.

Installing a new brick mold on the top and side, along with some 3/4″ J channel for the siding.

Prior to reinstalling the screen door, it’s important to fix the jamb first.
