Is the weight of your tool bag increasing with age a common experience among older individuals?

Is it due to having more tools or simply the effects of aging?
Is getting up there in age
It’s time to mix it up and switch to smaller bags
Maybe try adding a magnesium supplement to your diet?
You should consider ditching that heavy 30-pound Dewalt drill and upgrading to something lighter. That will definitely help reduce the weight and get rid of unnecessary tools.
Suggests that just switching to Li-ion cells can make a difference
The trick is to keep your tool bag light. Being a minimalist is key. Your lower back will thank you in a decade.
In ten years I’ll be resting in an urn!!β±οΈ
Yeah, I’m scheduled for my fifth back surgery next week. Almost hit the 40-year mark in electrical work… almost
Same here…. Haha
Follow my lead and retire, now my tool bag weighs 12 oz
Thinking about getting a Toughbuilt tote? It’s on my list.
As I’ve aged, my bag has become lighter. I’ve realized that I can achieve more with fewer items. If I encounter something that requires an additional tool, I simply grab it from the truck.
You’re starting to lose some strength, my friend, you’re becoming weaker
That’s the beauty of having helpers around.
That doesn’t belong to you, it’s mine.
A worker kept sneaking lead fishing weights into my bag. I actually thought I was getting ill because it felt so heavy.
I totally get that. The truss 3000 is my go-to next tool.
Eez, how many screwdrivers do we need for this job?
Too many options!!
A single screwdriver with multiple tips is all you need
Oh my goodness, my poor back
Tip of the day – if you’ve been at it for so long, you must be loaded, so why not retire the tools and hire someone else to do the job.
As you gain more experience, you tend to carry fewer tools. Most of the time, I have a linesman, a 6 in 1 screwdriver, a voltage detector, a utility knife, a digital multi meter with an amp probe, a gfci/outlet tester, a drill with a screw gun shank and tip, and a roll of black tape in my tool bag. The rest of my tools usually stay in the van unless I really need them. π
Et rid of that old drill and upgrade to something better
Has had it for about 20 years now, went through a couple of batteries.
I’ve heard that one before! π
I dug out my leather hip belt that I purchased 35 years ago and now I only keep a few things in it. The rest I grab as I need them.
That’s actually what I’m considering doing too.
The key is to keep things light. I use my leather tote for keeping stuff.
My packout is my favorite for this very reason.
I have this backpack my wife gave me that used to be almost empty, but now it’s filled with about 90lbs of hand tools after a year.
Sometimes you start a new business for generating income not because you have to, but because of all the positive testimonials. I want to express my gratitude to you and your company for the wonderful opportunity I had to be a part of. It was a success thanks to you, Alex Lucas Santi
FACT
I totally understand. I used a bucket-tool pouch for years. The older you get, the more you understand it.
I retired with a 72 lb bag.
I usually use a pouch and packout for everything else, but when I need to, I prefer my large toolbelt with suspenders to take the weight off my drill holsters.
Maybe add some wheels and a telescopic handle for easy transport.
It really showcases your expertise!

Not every task requires every tool in your bag, switch to a smaller bag to carry only the tools necessary for the job at hand. ” conduit, Mc,panels.etc.
Invest in a cart. Roll it in
Hopefully that’s the heaviest thing you have to carry today. Be careful with your back.
