Is ripping out the tile and redoing it the correct solution for the 38 inch gap between the bottom tile and shower pan in the new home you just bought?

Check out this shower in the new place we purchased! We’re pretty confident we can clean up the shower pan, but the problem is the 3/8 inch space between the tile and pan.
My plan is to tear out the tile and start fresh. Does that sound like the best course of action to you?
That gap is just too big for caulk to do the trick.
That looks like a disaster waiting to happen if it isn’t one already. Best to remove it and start fresh.
I genuinely can’t understand how people manage to live in these conditions.
You beat me to it!
The most concerning part is the gaps at the curbš
Those gaps are even wider. It’s interesting how much effort was put into cutting the tile to fit around all the curves. Quite unusual.
Hey , I would recommend taking out the pan as there’s likely some damage. Are the gaps filled with polyurethane or grout? They seem pretty openš
Even without the gap, I would still remove it. I can’t stand things not being centered properly.
I haven’t even seen that part yet! š
Reat job!!š … I’d love to have them work on my next bathroom.
That’s not great…might be time for a fresh start. I think even a regular person could improve on that! š
It’s in pretty bad shape… better to remove it completely and start fresh. I’m sure you can do a better job than that! š¤£
Be ready to remove more than expected as it appears to have a deteriorating floor
Haha!! Iām gonna seal it up before we start the demo to make sure those mold spores, which I’m positive are there, don’t spread everywhere.
