Is it typical to have a small gap between crown molding and ceiling in a 27-year-old trailer, and how should I address maintenance concerns?

Hey, quick question for you – is it typical to have a tiny space between the crown molding and the ceiling? I’ve noticed it in a few spots around the house, and I’m not sure if it’s something I should worry about. The place is pretty old, about 27 years, and I’m just trying to get a sense of what’s normal and what’s not. I’ve got a few repairs on my to-do list, like replacing a sink pipe, a part in the toilet tank, and a sink faucet. Figured I’d ask for some advice while I’m at it!

After a few years of being lived in, manufactured homes can begin to relax a bit. There aren’t any serious issues other than the appearance. You could always use some 16ga nails to reinforce it if you’d like. A small amount of caulk can also help seal it up.

Apply some caulk

The trailer is 27 years old, so things might shift a bit. It’s mainly cosmetic, so if it’s bothering you, just add caulk and paint. But I wouldn’t invest too much money into it, since you won’t recoup the costs.
