Is it possible to replace a 40s-built condo medicine cabinet with an oval mirror without removing the internal storage portion?

We just moved into an older condo and doing any renovations has been quite a challenge. I really want to change out the medicine cabinet, but I’m not sure how to go about it. The dimensions of the cabinet inside are 16.5×20.5, which seems a bit odd. I’m hoping to switch it out for one with an oval mirror on the front. Do you think I can do this without having to take out the whole inside storage part?

Consider swapping out the entire medicine cabinet. We opted for a round one at a cost of approximately $250.

Try adding an oval mirror on drawer slides that fully extend instead of using hinges, they can be quite frustrating.
