Is it feasible for a beginner with no experience to DIY move a fence to enclose the entire yard on a budget, while keeping the existing fencing intact, in order to make the yard more usable?

Hey everyone! So, last year I bought a house with a pretty big backyard, but the fencing is a bit wonky. The fence separates my yard from my neighbor’s, but I want to move it so my whole yard is enclosed. Right now, only a small part of my yard is fenced off and it’s all slanted and awkward. Plus, I can’t even fit my ride on lawn mower in there! I was thinking about trying to move the fencing myself as a DIY project to save some money. I have no experience with this kind of thing, so I’m wondering how doable it would be. I was thinking of keeping the right side as it is and just angling the other half and digging new posts. The fencing is in pretty good shape, so I’m hoping it’s something I can tackle on a budget. Eventually, I’d love to add a concrete slab by the lake with a gazebo, some patio furniture, and a fire pit, but that’s a project for another day.

Have you found the property corners before considering a new fence? If you’re not sure, it’s best to call a Land Surveyor to help locate them.

Make sure to get a survey before making any decisions!

I had a similar situation with an angled lot in Keystone Heights, Florida. It’s crucial to get a survey to avoid potential disputes with neighbors. Be cautious and gather all necessary information before making any decisions.

Yes, always make sure you know the exact property lines before spending any money.
