How can I achieve this specific look? My plan is to apply the color gently first and then add a gray stain. Does that sound correct to you?
Just put on some grey transparent stain, then wipe it away.

For that greenish undertone, I suggest using wolmanized wood for the exterior with 5/4 deck boards
So basically you brush on a stain and quickly wipe it off with a rag
