Is insulation foam board covered with vevor water membrane a suitable base for shower wall tile installation?

Do you think it’s okay to use insulation foam board with a water membrane on top as a base for putting up shower wall tiles?
Feel free to use any material you like, just make sure to apply a waterproofing membrane like redguard.
