I still remember when permits above the ceiling became mandatory. I got caught with a permit from a different job. (Oops.) The guy came up to my ladder while I was on it to inspect and then shut me down. I actually got into quite a bit of trouble for that.

Oh man, my plant had a bunch of rules in place years before I retired. Sometimes it was just easier to fix things quietly than to deal with all the paperwork!
