If the cover plate is snug against the box, pinching the wall between the yoke and cover plate, how could you push the bolt all the way through the opposite wall in a metal box with little to no flexibility? Essentially, you’d have to force the entire cover plate through the wall you’re looking at for the bolt to go through the other wall…
That’s not allowed!
Remove the screw…put on that fancy stainless plate….and give it another shot. haha
The protective switch cover will keep the screw from coming out on the opposite end.
