“Do not under any circumstances attempt to open the door without proper authorization. Failure to comply could result in serious consequences.”

“Hey, just a heads up, it’s super important to not open that door unless you have the right permission. Things could get pretty dicey if you don’t follow the rules.”

3/4 inch EMT Coupling with a one inch clip

Georgia Larson

I can’t believe it, I’ve seen everything! 😂

Ted Fleming

No way, there’s always some new crazy discovery happening! 😳 I’ve witnessed some things

Georgia Larson

Dude, I totally agree 😂

Ted Fleming

Oh hey, I have some pictures!

Ben Stone

It’s pointless to attach a strap to a connector because the conduit still needs to be supported on both sides according to NEC regulations.

Clara Vásquez

Noles’ first error is the COUPLIN
Second error is the absence of code stating strapping within x feet of a connector.

(NEC)

Carlota Griego

States to keep it within 12 inches of the box

Irma Angulo

Rick orecki what does that have to do with a coupling?

Carlota Griego

If you actually read the comment I responded to, you would comprehend

Irma Angulo

Rick orecki that statement doesn’t address boxes at all

Carlota Griego

😒

Irma Angulo

Rick orecki connectors and boxes have completely different designs 🙂

Mathew Jimenez

Wow, he really got served!

Mathew Jimenez

Rick orecki it’s not 12 inches from a box

Mathew Jimenez

Rick orecki the requirement is 30 inches and every 10 feet after

Judith Morgan

Within 36 inches of a box and every 10 feet.

Norman Austin

Rick orecki strange box

Melodie Lavigne

Right on the money! Just a box.

Debra Gibson

Bro, are you okay?

Camille Lam

Is that a pipe connector Noles?

Olivier Johnson

Reat

Deann Johnston

Seems like this is something a skilled union worker teaches their apprentice…

Philip Anderson

Covered in scabs

Amy Palmer

That sounds great! yup, mmhmmm, I’ll definitely give that a try next time 😂

Gabrielle Liu

The strap is also upside down, among other issues.

Clemente Salgado

Are you sure about that?

Gabrielle Liu

If you consider the strength to withstand time and possible damage from others, I think it is. They secure the conduit better in that orientation.

Gabrielle Liu
Russell Dean

That way is like a lever and can support less weight. They should be hung that way.

Clemente Salgado

Those straps can bend open if someone were to hang on them. However, if the screw is at the bottom with a proper fastener, it could hold much better.

Ethan Harper

It’s definitely true, . You can test it out by trying to pull down on the pipe when it’s installed one way, and then flipping it over to the top and trying again.

Douglas Allen

I used to be on the team under, but I switched to over… Definitely stronger, as .

Noelia Dueñas

Why, ?

Marcus Miles

Wow, , it’s surprising to find someone else who knows that!

Laura Graham

I actually don’t mind it.

Elliot Johnson

I remember having to have this discussion with an apprentice, I did technically say 5ft apart on the clips. 😂

Raymond Watkins

You must enter the city or county code

Julia Gonzalez

All he had was a strap that matched the connector, come on guys, let’s give him credit for that

Marilyn Andrews

Pretty cool!

Anabel Carrasco

The supply house messed up and sent the wrong strap, but the foreman said to figure it out

Leon Gomez

Equivalent to using a 3/4 fitting on the bell end of 1/2 PVC

Lilia Rosado

Humorous

Etienne White

It doesn’t explicitly prohibit it.

Bruce Herrera

I prefer to use a zip screw to secure the clamp and conduit tightly.

Strap can be placed in any direction

Elizabeth Bell

I’ve never witnessed it on a pairing before

Paulina Casares

Electrician Trivia: Should we strap the pipe on the left or the right? Answer: Yes

Judith Morgan

Incorrect

Camille Lam

Ian Spencer

It’s completely legal, without a doubt.

Judith Morgan

This is totally fine. Some people really should get a code book.

Seth Shaw

Uy Harrelson not everyone needs to immediately refer to the book – sometimes gaining experience in the trade for a few years can change your perspective, and you’ll have confidence in your work without constantly checking the book.

Adam Park

Reat job supporting the actual conduit 🤦🏼‍♂️

Dwight Patterson

I think it might have been accidentally kicked 😂

Lily Hoffman

Is that Nec or Mmec?

Anna Evans

It’s just 3 feet away

Brian Hudson

Hey, just fyi there isn’t a 3 foot rule for couplings

Isabel Villagómez

My eye… my eyes 😂😂

Peyton Thomas

Looks legit…..haha

Phoebe Rodriguez

Perfect tuning 👌🏽

Marcus Carroll

Hey boss, do you have a 3/4 inch one hole for my half inch pipe?

Clayton Bishop

He only had big wall straps that were slightly oversized. Just wrap it around the coupling. Issue fixed, haha

Mason Peterson

Labels themselves as a CoupStrap

Lena Carpenter

It’s more effective than no strap at all…

Javier Aguirre

Hmm, seems like a one-stop-shop for everything!

Sergio Castillo

3 feet away from the box and only every 10 feet!

Maxime Macdonald

No space left 😂

Gina Butler

I know… it actually works 😂

Otto Tuomi

In situations where improvisation is necessary

Emily Jackson

The opposite way around

Cassandra Chavez

Looks nice

Camille Lam

Using a three-quarter inch strap on a half inch coupling always does the trick

Daniel Walker

I could debate with the inspector all day that both are officially clamped!!🤣🤣

Alexis Miller

You can’t believe they used a coupling.. thought I had seen it all

Allison Wagner

Reat

Cecil James

To be honest, I don’t see the major problem with it.

Allen Crawford

It’s actually within 3 feet of a coupling…. Interesting…
