I cannot attend the meeting tomorrow because I have a doctor’s appointment that I cannot reschedule.
I wish. I bring home $1600 a week and it feels like peanuts with inflation
That’s so true 🤭🤭
Wow, look at you living the good life. When I first started, I was only making two bucks an hour. Time to start budgeting.
$1600 a week is pretty decent, whether it’s pre or post taxes
Bringing in $1600 every week is awesome
Back in the day, you could snag a house for a nickel you old timer.
If you’re having trouble with that, then you might need to reassess the situation
Instead of blaming your income, have you thought about reassessing your expenses? Maybe you could cut back on non-essential items like expensive cars or gaming subscriptions. Have you looked into more affordable housing options in your area? I would be thrilled to make $1600 a week where I live!
I don’t understand what he’s trying to say. The economy has definitely changed in the last 50 years.
$1600 is double my income, but I’m only in my second year.
It’s funny how the same generation thinks that a house bought for $11,000 is now valued at $411,000.
Making $1600 a week as a Florida apprentice sounds great, doesn’t it? 🧢🧢🧢
Why don’t you give $15/hr a try and then let me know how you’re doing.
Where is your current place of residence, Jeremy?
Gas was most likely around 98 cents a gallon back then, and mortgages were probably around $400 a month. You crack me up! 🤡
So, , if you happen to be living in Mississippi, right?

I’m not sure which company you’re associating with, but it’s definitely not like that.
I was totally lost… It seems like the tapers and drywallers are earning more than us in this situation 🤷♂️.
This video is pure nonsense.
It all depends on how many wives you end up with. You might just have a wallet at every stage. *Pun intended
Back in 2001, those weekly paychecks really had the tellers laughing 😂. I was making way more in a week than both the tellers and the managers were making in a month 😂.
Imagine swapping out the cash for stress, knee, and back issues – now that’s hitting the nail on the head.

?
Hmm no.. i was struggling for the first 3 years…
I work in residential and managed to pull in 10k in scrap last month, not bad right? 🤣
The deception 🤣🤣🤣
Is this for real ? I’m still in my first year
Lol 😂 I don’t think I’m in this job just for the money… electricians in my area are earning around 30-40/hr and the cost of living is crazy high (22% above the national average) here. Houses start at 450k+ and rent for a 1bd apt is about 1400. It’s tough. I’ve been considering moving on because 60k/yr doesn’t seem sustainable long-term. I love what I do, but I can’t risk ending up homeless due to the high cost of housing… I don’t love it that much.
I currently make $34 an hour as an apprentice in residential work. I’ve been doing this for 10 years but haven’t received my J card yet. I could take the test any day. Right now, we’re getting bonuses and a lot of overtime. Once I get my J card, I hope to be making over $40 an hour. With the cost of living right now, you’re right, it’s not worth it. I feel like I make a lot more than many people around me, though. I don’t understand it.
Yeah, I focus solely on commercial/industrial work and I make 27. It’s tough here
I’m in the Chicago area making $106/hr as a Journeyman with the total package
Where are you based? Just go talk to your boss and ask for a raise. See what you can do to increase your earnings. I feel like you’re not being paid enough, man.
In Utah, even journeyman Ibew rates are 79k/yr and with my benefits last year I made 77k so I can’t really say I’m underpaid, it’s just that Utah is not the best place to work lol
Do you guys have to work on residential homes? I remember reading about that somewhere. That sounds rough. I hope you’re compensated well if that’s the case.
Yeah that’s awesome but I’m pretty sure in most big cities you need a connection to get into the ibew and unfortunately I don’t have one
Oh no, really? I actually live in Michigan. Looks like we’re pretty far apart!
Is involved with residential projects, but the real money is in commercial, industrial, and educational projects.
It took me a while to get into the field – I didn’t know anyone when I started and had to go back to community college to improve my Algebra grade. Ended up with a B, believe it or not! Now, 25 years later, I’ve been a contractor for 11 years and loving every minute of it.
I have two associate degrees and completed my education. I just have one more test left to become a Utah jw. I might apply and see how long it takes for them to accept me.
There’s a labor shortage everywhere you turn. In Racine, Wisconsin, there’s a project at Microsoft that needs 700 electricians. They’re even willing to take people with no experience and fast-track them into an apprenticeship.
The demand for skilled labor is expected to be crazy high for the next 5 years. It shouldn’t be too difficult to find a well-paying job, whether it’s unionized or not, in areas with labor shortages. Many unions are enrolling large groups of apprentices, and electricians with previous experience are getting organized and starting at suitable positions.
Definitely exaggerating a bit

That government video full of lies is just disgusting…
Apprentices typically earn around $15 per hour 😂😂😂 you can actually make a decent amount as a journeyman, but most earn between 50-70k depending on location which is pretty good but only slightly above average pay lol you won’t be making good money unless you’re a supervisor or working for a large company like Tesla or eneral Electric.
Does enjoy traveling? How does a base pay of 86500 before overtime sound? More experience equals better negotiations. I hear most of my Foremen are making over 150k. Direct message me.
