How should I properly attach my newly acquired cabinets to the wall – is using anchor straps or brackets enough, or is there more to consider?

I recently got these new cabinets and I’m wondering how to properly hang them on my wall. I read online that using anchor straps or brackets at the top is the way to go… does it really work that easily? Should I be doing anything else too? šŸ¤”

Secure them with anchors or screws to the wall. It really is that easy.

Yep, it’s truly as straightforward as that.

Thanks a lot!

There should be surrounding lats on the inside to screw into the wall.

I’d screw them in from inside at the top where the nailer is. The strip along the top of the cabinet interior. There are probably 3 studs behind it that you can screw into. If you want to level it first, shim under it, but it’s not really necessary unless it’s way off level. I would do any finishing painting, etc., on them before attaching them to the wall.

If possible, screw into the studs on both sides and in the middle. Consider doing so at the top, bottom, and middle.

Hot glue can be so useful!

I would attach 1×3’s horizontally to the studs, then screw the cabinets into that. You can use a 1ā€ trim piece on the sides to conceal the support wood. This is the method I used when constructing a large bookcase, and it worked well without any concerns.
