I was given a quote of $7500 to construct a pergola in my backyard, so I opted to build it myself instead. It turned out really nice! I’m planning on running extension cords along the frame this weekend to keep them out of the way.

Hey, based on your comment, it seems like you’re not from the USA. As homeowners, we need to follow city regulations. I had a similar experience where my project was rejected because I needed approval from the city hall.

Didn’t secure it down with Hilti and epoxy bolts at all

I’ve been considering doing something similar. How did you secure the 1×6’s to the posts?
Mentioning they are 2×6 and explaining how they attached 2×4’s onto the 4×4 post with pocket holes before screwing the 2×6 onto them
