How many 197×197 tiles would I need to cover a rectangle space on my wall that is 10ft by 52ft, given its odd shape?

Hey, can you lend me a hand with some math? I’ve got a rectangle space on my wall that measures 10 feet by 52 feet. My tiles are 19.7 inches by 19.7 inches. Any idea how many tiles I’ll need to cover the whole thing, considering the shape of the space?
You’d probably require around 21 12-packs
I’d say around 280. If it’s not returnable, I usually get 10% more, and if it is, I get 20% more. And if it’s hard to find, it’s best to stock up ahead of time.
Exactly
It clearly states 25.5 square feet right there. Just divide your room by 25.5 and add an extra 10-12 percent.
Back in high school, OP asked, “Why do I have to learn geometry? I’ll never use it.”
Hey there, my name is and I teach high school Geometry. I honestly hear that comment on a daily basis.
There are 23 cases ordered with a 10% allowance for waste.
You’ll require 21 boxes
10×52 = 520 square feet
520 / 25.5 = 20.39
It’s best to have six additional pieces on hand
Absolutely.
Oh, I teach 3rd grade math – that’s my specialty!
Be cautious when making purchases and installing. Amazon now offers a 30-day return window for most items.
What type of wall do you have that measures 52 feet across?
It’s not only about the rough square footage. The bigger the tile and the more obstacles that require cutting around, the bigger the cutting allowance needs to be. Certain installations may require a 25% cutting allowance.
10 multiplied by 52 equals 520 square feet. Divide 520 by 25.5 square feet to get 20.4. Increase that by 10% and you’ll have around 23 boxes.
This post somehow got posted 6 months after I submitted it, but hey, the project is finally finished and I’m thrilled with the outcome! 😀
