We’ve been swapping out the carpets in our house for vinyl plank flooring. We decided to tackle the stairs for the first time and used cap-a-tread. It was surprisingly easy to install and we’re really pleased with how it looks!
I’m planning on doing the same thing to my house! None of my friends have mentioned using stair treads, but they look amazing and we still need to install them!
I agree they can be a bit pricey, but they are super easy to install. Trust me, it’s definitely worth the money!
Oh my goodness, my contractor actually asked if I could get 4 or 5 extra pieces! Can you believe that? I had to tell him he was crazy, so I settled for just 2 extra. I was worried it would throw off my budget, but seeing yours makes me think it will be worth it in the end!
Wow, I definitely want to give this a try! The estimate I got was $1500 for the project.
Can I ask how many steps did? Each stair cap cost $60. I purchased mine from Home Depot.
You did a fantastic job.
I just wanted to say thank you so much!
You painted the riser in white. No insert or additional wood.
Yep, we applied 2 coats of zinzer primer and a layer of satin white paint. The risers were in good shape. The cap a tread covered the entire stair step. Each tread cost $60 to order. It was a bit pricey, but it matched the look we were going for and was really simple to set up. Just needed to cut it to size and glue it on.
Awesome! $60 may seem steep but it turned out great. I’ve got 13 steps!
Oh boy, I still have 10 more to go haha. We thought we’d give it a shot with these ones first.
Such awesome improvements!
Wow, that looks amazing!
