How do I properly install wood strips under my laminate countertops for a rental house if they are 108 inches long with left and right miters?

I’m in the process of putting in laminate countertops for a rental property and could use some guidance. I recently discovered there are these build-up kits that include wood strips to help the countertop sit flush on top of the cabinets. My countertop measures 108″ (with a left miter) and 54″ (with a right miter). I’m a bit confused about where these wood strips should go – should they be attached to the countertop or the cabinets? And how do I go about installing them for a countertop of this length? I’m not having much luck finding answers on YouTube. Any suggestions?
If the cabinets are 24 inches wide, no additional build up is required.
Simply glue or nail in door shims as needed to ensure the countertop is flat.
To properly install the end cap kit, it’s important to have build up behind the front lip, along the back, and at each end. When installing a stainless steel sink, make sure to add small pieces around the sink, especially in the back, to secure the sink clips. It’s not necessary for the cabinet joints to be perfectly aligned. The countertop should rest on top of the cabinets rather than hanging over the front. The finished height of the tops should be 36 inches from the floor (34½ inches for the cabinet plus 1½ inches for the top).
