How difficult is it to retrofit a dark nook in my Master with 2 recessed lights and new switches if I’ve never wired new lights before?
Hey everyone,
I have a little spot in my Master bedroom that’s just too dark for my liking, and I think it could really benefit from 1-2 recessed lights to brighten it up.
The space measures 4 feet deep by 11 1/2 feet long, so I’m thinking 2 lights should do the trick.
If I can access that part of the attic (I’ve never been back there), how difficult would it be to add the lights? And would I need to install new switches?
I keep seeing these kits at Home Depot that claim to make installation and wiring a breeze.
I’m pretty good with DIY projects, but I’ve never added new lights to an existing system that currently only has a fan light.
I want it to look like one of the nooks in the secondary living room (check out the 3rd pic).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris
You might want to consider painting that nook area a lighter shade. The dark color is giving it a dim appearance. If you can reach that spot from above, the installation of lights will be much simpler.
