How did you customize your Costco play set to make it more suitable for all ages and maximize swinging fun in your backyard?
We got a play set from Costco and decided to customize it a bit. We sold the swing set part, got some lumber and hardware, and turned it into a real beast! Gotta make sure us adults can have some fun too, right? We added more swings and made it all modular. The picture was taken before we finished it, we had to take down one of the cedar legs. It’s sturdy and a blast for everyone. The empty spot now has a large oval swing that can fit four kids or an adult and a kid. That’s the most popular spot on the set. We also attached a surfing glider board to a brace off the top for some extra fun.
I noticed that swing sets that come pre-made are too short for my liking. I wanted that playground swinging action, you know? The factory version would have had the wood attached above the white plastic piece, or maybe below it. Looking back, I kinda wish we had used 4×12 lumber and pushed it all the way to the fence. But hey, it’s not my backyard, so I can’t complain!
